I remember when Kim was little and it was just us two for many years, my mom said that she couldn't imagine any man coming between Kim and me. Well, I knew someday God would bring that man, and He did... Josiah. And God couldn't have brought a more amazing man for her. I have been blown away by the love he has for Kim. When Josiah called us from college to ask if he could officially start dating Kim, little did we know she already had breast cancer and would be coming home in a few short months for surgery and treatment. And that the majority of their courtship would be long distance. And that not even a year after that treatment it would come back again as stage 4 cancer. But God knew. I am so thankful to see them together. Kim has not been whole without Josiah, and I am so SO blessed that she is loved like she is and gets to experience an amazing marriage to a man who adores her and who she adores.
This day was so perfect in so many ways. God showed up so mightily and so lovingly, and proved again how much He loves us and is so worthy of our praise. I am so thankful for so many things from that day:
-the amazing help we had with food and the cake
-the incredible sewing job that was done to alter Kim's dress (and that we found the dress at a ridiculously low price!)
-the venue owners allowing us the use of their venue
-the DJ who put us on his schedule in an instant
-the weather that threatened, but God kept at bay and allowed us to have a shaded ceremony with no wind or rain
-the Pastor's message during the ceremony that still speaks to my heart
-the friends and family who flew and drove to share the day with us (I wish I could have spent more time with each of you!) and who blessed Kim & Josiah with gifts and words
-my father, who was having a rough day but wanted to walk Kim down the aisle, that God answered my prayers and allowed him to walk her and to have a good day after all
... I am thankful.
